#MARGINAL ARTERY OF DRUMMOND

     

•it is formed by anastomosis between the main arteries supplying large intestine(ileocolic,right colic,middle colic(branches of superior masenteric artery) and left colic & sigmoidal arteries (branches of inferior masenteric artery))
• run along the concave margin of three sided loop formed by large intestine • It extend from the ileocaecal junction to retro-sigmoid junction • From it arises vasa rectae, the terminal artery that supplies the large intestine
 
• It is able of supplying the large intestine even if one of the large feeding trunk is severed
